Near Uttamaplayyam we have many tourist attractive spots which will entertain our customers on vacation. They are listed as follows.
Suruli falls, is located 56 km from Theni and 10 km from Cumbum in the Theni District in Tamil Nadu, India. It is a 2 stage Cascading water fall. The Suruli River supplying the falls originates from the Meghamalai mountain range.
Saneeswaran Bhagavan Temple
The Temple is located at Kuchanoor near Chinnamanur of Theni District on the bank of main channel of River Surabhi.The Chief deity Seneeswaran in the man God and its Genesis was on it own and not created (Suyambu). In all temples Saneeswaran in either of Navagrahah or he remain in separate sannithi.
Sri Kalahastheeswarar Temple
Lord Rajaganapathi blesses the devotees in the temple. Vasthu Bhagwan-the deity responsible for the proper construction of buildings in accordance with rules for safety, peace and prosperity-with His tuft tied upward occupies the centre place in the Rasi Chakra-Zodiac squares-on the upper wall of the front mandap before the Shiva shrine. Above this is a sculpture depicting Lord Brahmma and Mother Ambica worshipping Lord Shiva. A serpent is around them circling. Sun, Moon, Sages Vyakrapada and Patanjali are nearby. Animals related to the 27 stars and symbols of zodiac signs are depicted around Vasthu Bhagwan.
Next to that is the painting of Suryamandala space chakra. Sun occupying the centrestage, other planets are around Him. Lord Dakshinamurthi in the Goshta of Shiva shrine appears without the banyan tree. Lord Lingodhbava is in a separate shrine. Lord Vishnu and Brahmma and Nandhi are before this shrine. There are shrines for Lord Kasi Viswanatha with Mother Visalakshi, Lord Chockanathar with Mother Meenakshi and Sahasralinga with Mother Parasakthi in the prakara. Special abisheks are performed to Sahasralinga on Poornima-full moon days when devotees can have the darshan of Kannimoola Ganapathy, Viswanatha, Chockanatha and Sahasralinga near Lord Dakshinamurthy simultaneously.
Popularly called High Wavy Mountains, is a cool and misty mountain range situated in the Western Ghats in Theni district, Tamil Nadu, near Kumily, Idukki District, Kerala. It is a place of natural beauty dotted with cardamom plantations and tea estates. The place is situated at an elevation of 1,500 m above sea level and it is rich in flora and fauna. This area, now mostly planted with tea, includes Cloudlands, Highwavys and Manalaar estates, the access to which is now largely restricted. It still includes large untouched remnants of evergreen forest.
Thekkady is located about 257 km (160 mi) from Trivandrum, 114 km from Madurai City and Madurai Airport, 145 km from Cochin International Airport and 114 km from Kottayam railway station. Thekkady is located near to Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. The sanctuary is famous for its dense evergreen, semi-evergreen, moist deciduousforests and savanna grass lands. It is home to herds of elephants, sambar, tigers, gaur, lion-tailed macaques and Nilgiri langurs.
The Vaigai Dam is built across the Vaigai River near Andipatti, in the Theni district of Tamil Nadu, southern India. It provides water for irrigation for the Madurai district and the Dindigul district as well as drinking water to Madurai and Andipatti. Near the dam, the Government of Tamil Nadu has constructed an Agricultural Research Station for researching the growing of variety of crops.
Kumbakkarai Falls are lesser known falls in the foothills of the Kodaikanal Hills. Kumbakkarai Falls are located along the Kodai-Vellagavi-Periyakulam foot path. These falls have two stages. At the first stage, water collects in huge rock recesses which are each named after wild animals such as tiger, elephant, snake etc. The Pambar river then flows .5 km (0.31 mi) to the second stage before falling as the main waterfall.
